CEE Digital Summit Warsaw 2022

Our team attended the CEE Digital Summit 2022 in Warsaw on 13th October. The third annual conference was again dedicated to exploring and shaping the digital course of CEE. High-level speakers from the CEE region and beyond discussed the more pressing issues of today’s digital economy.

The digital landscape is shaped by more than technology. Competitiveness and limits of CEE’s digital industry and the region’s economies are determined by vital EU regulations. The cooperation between CEE and US faces an entirely new set of challenges in the digital age, as issues of transfer of digital technology, data flow and access to innovative digital services shape the economy and society on both sides of the Atlantic. CEE faces the highest rate of digital security incidents and attacks ever recorded. Gathering, processing, and using data to its full potential as well as adoption of AI and Cloud computing solutions are an absolute must for the region to fully transform. Therefore, there are clear key challenges for the region - regulations, transatlantic cooperation, cybersecurity and digital transformation. The Summit tried to seek opportunities for closer collaboration, identify key challenges on the region’s digital path and the stakeholders shared their thoughts on overcoming them.

The speakers at the sessions included several Ambassadors and partners of one of our key projects, the League for Digital Boost, such as Petr Očko, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Czech Republic, Ondřej Ferdus, Director of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, Marcin Nowacki, Vice-President of ZPP, or Michal Kanownik, Chairman of the CEE Digital Coalition and host of the CEE Digital Summit event. Our organization was represented at the panel on the digital transformation of CEE by our executive director, Michal Kardoš

We had a wide range of possibilities to network with the current leaders, experts and stakeholders from the public and private sector, NGO, academia from the CEE region and the EU institutions. A follow up meeting of the CEE Digital Coalition with the presence of Mr Janusz Cieszyński, Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Cyber Security, in which the Slovak Alliance for Innovation Economy (SAPIE) is a member at, took place at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland.
