EU regulations:

On 22 February 2023, we organized a discussion on EU regulations.
Digital transformation is a priority at the national and European level as well. In order to ensure a better digital future, the European Union is simultaneously working on several pieces of legislation that will affect several ecosystem players, including large companies and SMEs.
1st Anniversary of the League
On behalf of the consortium of partners of the League for Digital Boost, a CEE initiative founded by us at the Slovak Alliance for Innovation Economy, we had the pleasure to host dozens of policymakers and stakeholders on Monday, 28th November in Prague to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the League for Digital Boost.
Meeting at the European Parliament
On 17 – 18 October 2022, our team represented by Lucia Colníková, Head of the League for Digital Boost initiative, joined a first of the series of briefings, workshops and discussions on entrepreneurship, one-person companies (OPCs) and self-employment: status and trends focusing on digitalization, services and retailing.
The discussions took place at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and European Parliamentary Association Strasbourg and were hosted by MEP Angelika Winzig, Chair of SME Intergroup and Vice President of SME Europe.
CEE Digital Summit Warsaw 2022
Our team attended the CEE Digital Summit 2022 in Warsaw on 13th October. The third annual conference was again dedicated to exploring and shaping the digital course of CEE. High-level speakers from the CEE region and beyond discussed the more pressing issues of today’s digital economy.
The speakers at the sessions included several Ambassadors and partners of one of our key projects, the League for Digital Boost, such as Petr Očko, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Czech Republic, Ondřej Ferdus, Director of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, Marcin Nowacki, Vice-President of ZPP, or Michal Kanownik, Chairman of the CEE Digital Coalition and host of the CEE Digital Summit event. Our organization was represented at the panel on the digital transformation of CEE by our executive director, Michal Kardoš.
Sharing best practices workshop @Globsec
We had a side event @Globsec 2022, where our speakers shared best practices for digitalization of SME’s.
Estonia usually ranks among top countries in the DESI charts, with the overall score higher than EU average. In 2021, it ranked first in the development of digital public services. Although being number one in number of unicorns per capita, or being known as the most advanced digital society in the world, this not mean automatically that it is a success story when it comes to the digitalization of SMEs, as it is still the challenge and the topic which is discussed among Estonian stakeholders.
HU roundtable on digitalization
On 25 April 2022, SAPIE organised a webinar on the Digital transformation of Hungarian SMEs under the umbrella of the League for Digital Boost in cooperation with Startup Hungary.
The discussion focused on the state of digitalization in Hungary, the meaning of digital transformation and the respective role of different players of the economy during this process.
Roundtable discussion
Digitization: the key to the success of small and medium-sized enterprises in the CEE?
On March 2, 2022, another event of the League for Digital Boost took place. The roundtable discussion was organized this time in cooperation with the Polish ZPP association, which is a member of the League. The aim was to identify the main obstacles to the digitization of SMEs and to propose recommendations for policy-making.
