Digivitality acceleration program is in full swing

In order to succeed in today’s healthcare systems, it is not only important to develop an appealing product based on proven technology, but also to prove the medical effectiveness of the solution and its cost efficiency. Digivitality’s unique acceleration program covers all these 3 dimensions.

First of all, all 8 startups selected via open call are supported on the business side. They will receive webinars from leading experts on topics such as go-to-market strategy, sales & exit strategy, product development & validation and advanced pitch techniques. On top of that, they can select from a pool of over 30 additional experts to consult on particular business topics of their choice.

On the medical validation side, all startups engage with at least one hospital partner, where for each of the products there are dedicated hypotheses to be validated in a real-world scenario. The validation can encompass collecting clinical data, receiving user feedback from doctors, nurses, patients, hospital management, or integration to hospital’s IT systems.

In healthcare systems where resources are constrained, understanding the economic impact of a new technology is crucial for reducing overall healthcare costs. Therefore the last dimension of our accelerator program is economic health technology assessment (HTA), where all startups received webinars and selected ones will be also to determine how cost-efficient the solution is compared to alternatives on the market. In future, where also digital application might be included in the health insurance systems, the cost-efficiency will be a key criterion to be assessed in the approval process which would allow for wide-scale adoption.

SAPIE is supporting one particular startup, Leuma. It is a combination of a unique applicator with a sensor able to monitor various bodily functions especially for long-term care facilities in hospitals. We are helping Leuma with developing its partnership strategy, investor pitchdeck and connecting the team with relevant Medtechs. Together with University hospital in Martin, they are validating the product to improve its algorithms, determine applicator ideal size and body placement and gain valuable insight from real-world patient cases.

The whole accelerator will finish in May 2025 with a Demo-day where all startups will present their progress during the year.
